I'm using a Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx with Mapsource (latest edition). I
downloaded the trial version of 2010 MS S & T for evaluation.

I planned a motorcycle trip and wanted to transfer the trip to the Garmin
GPS. Used MS S & T to create the trip and then exported it as a GPX file.

Garmin Mapsource cannot import the newly created .gpx file.

Which program is at fault? Does MS S & T export the trip incorrectly or does
Mapsource not recognize the .gpx file?

I've noticed that when exploring the file in my documents folder (trip
planner) the .gpx icon is a plain grey icon as compared to the .est filed
saved in the same folder. The .est folder has a more graphic icon with a S &
T image.

Why purchase the MS software if it's not going to work as advertised?

Try RouteConverter, which is freeware from Germany, to do the
conversion to a Garmin gpx file format.

I have a 2720 and S&T 2010. Did a route in S&T and saved as GPX.
Loaded into Mapsource and it worked fine. Be aware, though, stops in
S&T are via points in MapSource. I had to go back and duplicate the
via points as way points for the way I use the GPS. Was done as a
motocycle trip. YMMV....Bob
