I believe that all of the point of interest (POI) data in streets & trips is
proprietary, and that there is no direct way to extract it.
The US Government does, however, have a Geographic Names Information System
(GNIS) which includes schools. It is searchable and has a nice web
interface. You can search for all schools, or other type of feature, from
airports and arches to wells and woods, by state and even narrow it down to
county. Here is the heading and one line of output for schools in
Bonneville county, Idaho:
Feature Name ID Class County State Latitude Longitude Ele(ft)* Map** BGN
Entry Date
York School 376012 School Bonneville ID 432623N 1120312W 4675 Idaho Falls
South - 21-JUN-79
The gnis output indicates there are 61 schools in Bonneville County. The
web page has buttons to export the table to a file. Once exported to a text
file, it would be easy to write a spreadsheet macro to massage the data to
create a set of pushpin data that can be imported to S&T using the data
import wizard.

The latitude and longitude is especially helpful since that info gives more
accurate placement than S&T's placement of certain addresses.
