Hi,
I've used several past version of Streets and Trips, most recently
2007. Today I started using 2010.
In the past versions there was a way to switch from what I call the
hand tool (press left mouse button and the map moves) to one where you
can outline a rectangular area and click within it to narrow your view
to that area.
Does this exist in S&T 2010 and, if so, how do you get rid of the hand
tool?

TIA

The new behaviour is left-button-drag --- move map, right-button-drag
--- make rectangle.

I much preferred the previous behaviour, but don't know how to get it
in the current versions.

The feature is still present in the software, but it was modified in the
2009 version:

Now, instead of switching between the two features by clicking the
toolbar button, you simply use the left mouse button for one feature,
and the right mouse button for the other.
