I wish to upload pushpins to a Garmin gps from my S&T 2009 which I'll someday
upgrade to 2010. I've reviewed the posts, but am not sure what is considered
the latest conversion program eg, est to gpx format? Thanks

The new version Microsoft Streets and Trips 2010 has new feature that allows
users to export (and even import) GPX data. Review of the new Streets &
Trips has been posted at the following link:

Marvin is right that S&T can export GPX data that Garmins can import. I have S&T 2010 and can confirm that it works well with my Garmin nĂ¼vi 855. (My older Streetpilot would have been able to deal with it using the Garmin MapSource software to translate the gdb format to gpx.) I did not own S&T 2009, though I had S&T 2008, and I don't believe there were changes in 2009 that would allow exporting of pushpins in that version. I'd advise getting S&T 2010 and opening your 2009 maps and saving in 2010, where you'll be able to export. Keep your 2009 maps, however, because there may be data that aren't considered pushpins for export, such as found locations with balloons that show in your saved maps. You may want to save those locations as actual pushpins before exporting. If you have a Garmin, S&T 2010 is a very worthwhile upgrade.

Thanks Marvin and David. I will do as suggested. I just downloaded the S&T
2010 trial version. My Nuvi 265T is enroute so won't be able to test it until
it arrives. I've searched for prices on S&T 2010. Is this legitimate?

I visited the above link, and while I cannot say if it is "legitimate" or
not, the following statement from the page is definetelly incorrect:

Quote:
"Will it work in my country? Yes, will work World-Wide, including UK and
every Country"

That's an incorrect, and misleading, statement. Streets & Trips contains
street-level map data for only USA, Canada, and Mexico. No road maps for
other parts of the world are included.

Good that Marvin spotted that statement.

It's certainly a good price. I don't know about the site, but if you've used it before, it's probably worth a shot.

An Amazon seller has it for $2.00 + shipping. Look here and scroll down.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B002LLR87E/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new

Since it's a marketplace item, it may be gone quickly.

I spotted that too. I agree that it's very misleading, but I'd like to point
out that I've used S&T for several years in Panama. It's true you don't get
maps, but you can lay tracks and place Pushpins. This turns out to be very
helpful when trying to get back to your favorite, but very desolate beach or
a mountain hideaway. Therefore, I would say it technically does work, but
without the full functionality.
