2009 route option question?
(too old to reply)

I just picked up a S & T 2009 version and I have question about route
options. I have a trip planned from central Illinois to Scranton, PA via
Franklin (Venango County), PA. I've made the trip before using mostly
interstate highways and it's a bit less than 1000 miles. This trip I'm
going to be driving an older vehicle that I don't want to drive on the
interstates unless absolutely necessary so I figured that I'd try this
program to see how it says to go. But when I set the options to preferred
roads and set interstates to "dislike" the program takes me on a route of
over 1300 miles to make the trip. It takes me way down into Kentucky and
West Virginia and then actually backtracks up into PA. I know that there's
more direct ways to go that won't add all that much to the trip and still
keep me off the interstates. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
TIA!

"Central Illinois" might be too vague to entice someone running 2009
(I'm not) to attempt to duplicate the error.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry about the vagueness. The actual starting point
would be about a mile south of Kincaid, Illinois on County highway 5.

Thanks, again!
